A Multiparty Multi-session Logic
نویسندگان
چکیده
Recent work on the enhancement of typing techniques for multiparty sessions with logical annotations enables, not only the validation of structural properties of the conversations and on the sorts of the messages, but also properties on the actual values exchanged. However, specification and verification of mutual effects of multiple cross-session interactions are still an open problem. We introduce a multiparty logical proof system with virtual states that enables the tractable specification and validation of fine-grained inter-session correctness properties of processes participating in several interleaved sessions. We present a sound and relatively complete static verification method.

Propositions in Linear Multirole Logic as Multiparty Session Types
We identify multirole logic as a new form of logic and formalize linear multirole logic (LMRL) as a natural generalization of classical linear logic (CLL). Among various meta-properties established for LMRL, we obtain one named multi-cut elimination stating that every cut between three (or more) sequents (as a generalization of a cut between two sequents) can be eliminated, thus extending the c...
متن کاملCoherence Generalises Duality: A Logical Explanation of Multiparty Session Types
Wadler introduced Classical Processes (CP), a calculus based on a propositions-as-types correspondence between propositions of classical linear logic and session types. Carbone et al. introduced Multiparty Classical Processes, a calculus that generalises CP to multiparty session types, by replacing the duality of classical linear logic (relating two types) with a more general notion of coherenc...
متن کاملMultiparty Sessions based on Proof Nets
Since their inception, sessions [12, 19] and multiparty sessions [11] have been gaining momentum as a very useful foundation for the description and verification of structured interactions. Interestingly, recent works have established a close correspondence between typed, synchronous pi-calculus processes and sequent proofs of a variation of Intuitionistic Linear Logic [3]. This particular inte...
متن کاملA Typeful Characterization of Multiparty Structured Conversations Based on Binary Sessions
Relating the specification of the global communication behavior of a distributed system and the specifications of the local communication behavior of each of its nodes/peers (e.g., to check if the former is realizable by the latter under some safety and/or liveness conditions) is a challenging problem addressed in many relevant scenarios. In the context of networked software services, a widespr...
متن کاملLinearly Typed Dyadic Group Sessions for Building Multiparty Sessions
Traditionally, each party in a (dyadic or multiparty) session implements exactly one role specified in the type of the session. We refer to this kind of session as an individual session (i-session). As a generalization of i-session, a group session (g-session) is one in which each party may implement a group of roles based on one channel. In particular, each of the two parties involved in a dya...
